Happy Blogday!
Current music: What sort of music should one play at a party held for a blog, for cryin' out loud?
Looking back through my previous blog entries, I've suddenly realised that it's just over a year since I posted the first entry for 'Intergalactic Rigamarole'. To be precise, Blog Entry No. 1 was published online on Thursday, September 08, 2005, 7:14 PM Hong Kong time. So Happy Birthday to the Anblogeda! Hip hip hurrah (x 3)!
Let's not forget the fact that the hit counter has gone past the 1,000 mark - yet another reason to throw a wild (virtual) party!

Anyway, in celebration of a year's worth of rants, rambles and randomness, and over a thousand compulsive repetitive visits to my own site in order to check for comments (oops! Did I just say that?), I have decided that this would be an appropriate time for you, dear readers, to look back on the humble pages of my blog, and vote for your favourite entries thus far. Personally, I'd put my money on some of the October 2005 entries, which I still feel are some of the wittiest (or maybe just weirdest) ramblings I've managed to come up with, although the two on 'useful' place names ('How to mull correctly' and 'More place names made useful'), and the one about the salad ('Salad Days') are also favourites.
So cast your votes, ladies and gentlemen! And may the best entry win!

Hmm.
I have to say I liked reading the Dewdrops Of The Mind more than any of the others. There is more of an "insight into Andromeda" than in the other blogs. Not that the other blogs are in any "unprepresentative" or "dishonest" and they are all very interesting... Let me pause to stop digging. As no opportunity to make yourself understood starts with defending yourself, let me start all over again.
The October 2005 ones are very thoughtful and I think all the blogs are all very well-written (in words are written with and that everybody understands, yet still do not get used verbally - why does this happen?). Dewdrops of The Mind is the most personal blog so far and this is why I like it.
Anyway, such is my unassuming, reticent, diffident, meek opinion.
Someone stole my cheese! It disappeared from my compartment in the fridge on Saturday night. I discovered the wrapper rudely discarded in the bin just as I was lamenting the missed opportunity to make cheese on toast. Naturally I lost my temper. I wrote some very nasty words on a note, attached the cheese wrapper to the bottom of it and angrily taped the note on the kitchen door.
I still don't know who stole the cheese, but I a new piece magically appeared in my fridge on Sunday morning.
I was so happy.

I think my favourite post has to be ‘Peanuts and Pavlovas’, which has made an indelible impression on my musical memory… But anything connected to sheep is pretty inspiring I think, especially with lots of nice illustrations too.
Sorry to miss the Blog-day celebrations! I hope they went well.

Mmmmm... pavlovas...
Actually, I don't think I've ever had a pavlova. What was I thinking about?
I have managed to consume each component part of a pavlova at different times in my life - does this count? I suppose was really thinking more about meringues.
Apparantly it was invented in 1929 by the chef of a New Zealand hotel after a famous ballet dancer who stayed at the hotel. Anna somebody.
Well, in she went and out came a pavlova.

You'd never believe this, but... her name was Anna Pavlova.
Who'd have guessed, eh?
She was a famous Russian ballerina in the early 20th Century. She must've been pretty good to get a dessert named after her...
